2. What we process and why
- Notification list. Your email address and, if you give them, your first name, country and preferred language, plus the time and wording of your consent and the page or campaign you signed up from. We use them to tell you by email when HF-Memo is available. You confirm your sign-up with a link in a confirmation email (double opt-in). Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
- Contact form. Your name, email address and message. We use them to answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Analytics and marketing cookies. Only if you allow them: Google Analytics for usage statistics and Google Ads for measuring the results of our advertising. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)).
- Technical data. Our hosting provider’s server logs (such as IP address and browser) are used to keep the site secure. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
3. Recipients
- Elisa Oyj (Finland) hosts the website and its database.
- Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited provides our email service (Microsoft 365): confirmation emails and messages sent through the contact form pass through it.
- Google Ireland Limited provides Google Analytics and Google Ads – only with your consent.
- YouTube (Google) – only when you choose to play a video.
- Indiegogo – the pre-order campaign runs on Indiegogo. We do not hand over the notification list; if you choose to pre-order, Indiegogo processes your details under its own privacy policy.
4. Transfers outside the EU/EEA
Google and Microsoft may process data in the United States. Such transfers rely on the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
5. How long we keep data
- Notification list: until you unsubscribe, and at the latest 12 months after HF-Memo has been launched in the online store.
- Contact messages: as long as needed to handle your matter, at most 24 months.
- Your cookie choice: 180 days. Analytics data: 14 months.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time – for example with the unsubscribe link in our emails. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Ombudsman in Finland (tietosuoja.fi) or with the data protection authority in your own country.
7. Cookies
- hfm_consent – necessary, stores your cookie choice (180 days).
- Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*) – analytics, only with consent (up to 2 years).
- Google Ads (_gcl_au and similar) – marketing, only with consent (up to 90 days).
- YouTube – only when you play a video, served from youtube-nocookie.com.
You can change your choice at any time in the cookie settings.
8. Security
The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Personal data is stored in the website’s database, which only authorised persons can access.

We may update this privacy policy. The current version is always available on this page.
